Our Story

LIFE OF KAI EST. 2022 was founded by James F. Wilson, the son of two Air Force engineers, who spent his early life moving across the United States before his family settled in Southern California. It was there that he was introduced to skateboarding by his uncle, professional skateboarder Adrian Demain. Since the early 1990s, skateboarding has been more than just an obsession for James; it's been a lifestyle, always striving for style and perfection in his approach.

LIFE OF KAI EST. 2022 truly embodies the essence of style and spirit inherent in skateboarding culture. The design philosophy behind our streetwear focuses on elegance and simplicity, coupled with exceptional durability and versatility. Our distinctive emblem features a combination of the Yellow Hibiscus, symbolizing James' Hawaiian heritage, and the Bayahibe Rose, the national flower of the Dominican Republic. These two beautiful floral icons blooming together represent James' first-born son, Kai.
